First victory flying a Halberstadt D-type.

It is unknown which Halberstadt D-type Richthofen flew during this period. Popular consensus has been it was a D.III but more likely it was a D.V, based on that model’s overwhelming numerical superiority in Jasta Il during Jan/ Feb 1917. However, since the Staffel also was equipped with one Halberstadt D.II and one D.III until 28 February, on any sortie he could have flown the Halberstadt Dell, D.III or D.V.
