\u00ab L’un des De Havilland en formation d\u00e9cal\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 abattu \u00e0 13 h 45 par le lieutenant Georg von der Osten du Jasta 11, qui se souviendra plus tard de sa quatri\u00e8me victoire : \u00ab Il s’est \u00e9cras\u00e9 sur le sol d\u00e9chiquet\u00e9 par les obus au sud du bois de Bourlon. Imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s l’atterrissage, Richthofen m’a f\u00e9licit\u00e9, mais m’a \u00e9galement r\u00e9primand\u00e9 parce qu’apr\u00e8s ma premi\u00e8re attaque, je n’avais pas suivi l’avion endommag\u00e9 dans le premier virage. J’avais d\u00fb faire demi-tour \u00e0 cause de l’attaque d’un autre Anglais qui, comme on disait dans le jargon allemand de la ligne de front, \u00ab crachait dans mon avion par derri\u00e8re \u00bb.
