Extrait d’une lettre du lieutenant Carl August von Schoenebeck \u00e0 Albert Flipts (dat\u00e9e du 7\/6\/1977). \u00ab Je me souviens tr\u00e8s bien de la p\u00e9riode \u00e0 Markebeke. Richthofen \u00e9tait avec la Jasta 11, dont il \u00e9tait le chef, dans le ch\u00e2teau du baron de B\u00e9thune. J’ai moi-m\u00eame habit\u00e9 une chambre au deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tage de juillet \u00e0 octobre 1917. Je crois me souvenir qu’\u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, une dame \u00e2g\u00e9e, probablement la baronne de B\u00e9thune, vivait dans le ch\u00e2teau lui-m\u00eame ou dans une annexe. J’esp\u00e8re que le Jasta 11 n’a pas laiss\u00e9 de mauvais souvenirs. Je vous envoie quelques photos. La photo de groupe dessin\u00e9e par le professeur Arnold Busch, prise en ao\u00fbt 1917 (dans le ch\u00e2teau). La photo avec von Richthofen a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise, autant que je me souvienne, dans les escaliers ou sur la terrasse du ch\u00e2teau ; il s’agit de la Jasta 11 dont je faisais partie \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque ; on me voit \u00e0 l’extr\u00eame droite sur la photo.
